The swimming pool
This development is carried out to make the most of a tubular pool.
Tube pools are cheap swimming pools that we install above all so that children can play in the water when it's hot. In the same spirit, there are freestanding inflatable swimming pools.
In this example, it's round, it is 3 meters in diameter and just under 80 centimeters tall.
You are free to choose a larger model or even a square or rectangular one depending on your wishes and the space you have available.
Often, these the pools are blue and attract attention. For better integration, I installed reeds all around connecting them to the pool hose. Take very thick caniss so that the blue doesn't show through, otherwise don't hesitate to use two layers.
The shaded space
In summer, in full sun, it can be very hot, so it seems to me essential to have a shaded space in this arrangement. It will allow children to take a break between swims and parents to relax by staying near the pool for safety reasons.
Garden furniture
I chose to install a garden corner sofa approximately 2 meters by 2 meters. The versions in braided resin They are cheap and cute. For the color, I opted for a version with warm shadeswhich contributes to the conviviality of the place.
He is accompanied by a small table bass.
The pergola
To create the shadow, I chose a simple wooden pergola, square, 3 meters per side. I have it surmounted by a staff which lets a little light through to obtain a slight shadow.
Alternatives: if you have a big budget, they are there pergolas equipped with adjustable slats which allow you to adjust the amount of sunlight to pass through.
The frame can be replaced climbing plants but in this case, a little patience will be needed before the plants cover the entire structure.
The cobblestone floor
Let's now come to what makes this project particularly original.
Even though the terraces around swimming pools are often made of wood, I decided to opt for a covering that is much simpler to install and out of the ordinary: the small pebbles.
These are pebbles of a few centimeters on which we can easily walk barefoot. They are also found under the name of rolled gravel, this means they have rounded edges, unlike crushed gravel which has sharp edges and is impossible to walk on barefoot.
When purchasing, check the caliberit is expressed in millimetres. For example, 20/30 means 20 to 30 millimeters, so pebbles 2 to 3 centimeters. They don't have to Don't be too big so that it can be easily stepped on.
The color of these mini-pebbles depends on their origin. They often come from rivers and are a mix of different shades.
Technically, for such a surface, I highly recommend creating a foundation in compacted gravel under the decorative pebbles. This foundation will ensure the stability of the soil over the years.
The plantations
I decorated this space with several potted plants. Using pots allows the plants to stand out more. It is also an opportunity to install exotic plants that can be brought over the winter to cold regions.
You can
I left large terracotta pots. They cost little and their color goes well with the spirit of this layout.
Since this material is resistant to frost, remember to bring them indoors when the cold weather arrives.
Alternatives: you can opt for another more resistant material if you want to leave them in place all year round, or even with more colorful models if you want to add some energy to the place.
The plantations
The swimming pool that evokes the heat and holidays, a selection of typical southern plants of France seems ideal to me: palm, oleander, olive tree, bougainvillea, etc.
Check if these plants are suitable for your climate. Otherwise, plan to place them in a cool room in your home once winter arrives.
Adapt this arrangement
Here is the floor plan of this layout with dimensions in meters.
If you choose a larger or other shaped pool, you will need to change the dimensions of the part that houses the pool.
